About this wood

Plas Power Woods comprise 33.7ha of woodland running nearly 2km along the River Clywedog between Coedpoeth and Bersham, Wrexham and is part of the same woodland continuum as the Woodland Trust property Nant Mill Wood situated upstream to the east. The vast majority of the woodland is ancient although most has been replanted with conifers and, locally, with beech and/or sycamore. The Trust has undertaken a programme of thinning at the site that has transformed many of the replanted areas with the proportion of planted conifers significantly reduced. The Trust has also started an extensive programme to control Rhododendron, formerly abundant and dense throughout the site.
