About this wood

This small copse has originated by re-colonising a small triangular open area alongside an ancient sunken way, which is a bridleway. There are obvious wooded field boundary banks on two sides of the area that are likely to have provided the seed source necessary for the re-colonisation to happen. This transformation is likely to have started in the early 1900. The area is designated as common land.
