About this wood

Shaptor Woods, a large expanse of woodland made up of a series of smaller, semi-natural ancient woodland sites, are a local landmark on Dartmoor’s south-eastern side. They line the upper slopes of the Wray Valley, and link with a number of other woods to form an extensive site, surrounded by a mixture of grassland and arable fields.
