The Woodland Trust Needs You!

Vote for Lang Craigs

The Woodland Trust Scotland, part of the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity wants your vote.

The Trust’s project at Lang Craigs has been shortlisted by the EOG Association of Conservation for a coveted prize of 30,000 Euros.  In association with Trail Magazine, members of the public are being encouraged to vote for the one they deem to be most eco-worthy.

In 2009, the Trust launched an ambitious fundraising campaign to acquire 240 hectares of land at Lang Craigs.  The site offers an amazing opportunity to secure this hidden gem and fulfil its ambition to create a woodland legacy for future generations.

Years of neglect have degraded its natural environment, however, the site offers fantastic opportunities for native woodland creation and community involvement with the promise of accessible green space not only for nearby Dumbarton, but for the wider area of Glasgow and the West.

Rebecca Whitley, Woodland Trust Scotland Project Officer, said:” If we receive enough votes, the prize money would give our appeal a much needed boost.  The appeal has received a great response from the local community – but we still have a long way to go before we reach our target.  Therefore, I urge you and all your friends to vote for the project - its really simple – so please vote today.”

To vote visit  http://www.livefortheoutdoors.com Voting remains open until midnight on Wednesday 10th February.
