Choose the Trust and support tree planting
Do you have old laptops lying around collecting dust in the attic?
Or even several mobile phones that have gone out of fashion years ago plonked and forgotten in a cupboard?
Well, now thanks to M&S you can turn these unwanted technical items into cash, which you can choose to donate to the Woodland Trust.
M&S has started gadget recycling and is asking for the public to send in a range of electrical items such as mobile phones, digital cameras, laptops, MP3 players and sat navs.
Once registered on-line and after getting a quote, M&S will send you out a special envelope which you must send back with the gadget to the freepost address.
You can then choose the Woodland Trust to receive your chosen donation.
The gadgets will not be sent to landfill where the toxic substances from batteries can leak into the environment, but will instead be recycled so others around the world can benefit from the technology.
How it works
1 Log on to marksandspencer.com/recycle, and find your gadget.
2 Click on the option that best describes its condition and get your quote.
3 Register, and M&S will send you a Freepost envelope for you to post your gadgets. If you’re recycling more than five gadgets or a laptop, you qualify for a free courier service.
4 Your gadgets will be tested to confirm the online valuation, then you’ll receive your M&S vouchers. Or you can choose to donate the money to one of the charities listed below.
