Disney present £100,000 to the Trust!

Disney Store UK and the Woodland Trust are celebrating raising their first £100,000 at a special Earth Day VIP Shopping Party at Disney Store Oxford Street.

Celebrity guests Nell McAndrew, Michelle Collins and Tess Daly joined Winnie the Pooh and Piglet at the event commemorating the fundraising milestone for the Woodland Trust.

As part of the proceedings a cheque was presented to the Woodland Trust to mark Disney Store UK’s fantastic fundraising achievement.

For every reusable bag sold in Disney’s nationwide chain of stores throughout April, £1 was donated to the Woodland Trust - the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity.

The money will be used to create a 50 acre wood, which will to be named The Magical Wood and will also support the Woodland Trust’s efforts to manage more than 1,000 woods in the UK. The Magical Wood will form part of Trust’s Heartwood Forest, which will become England’s largest new native woodland.

Earth Day, an international day organised to raise awareness and provoke inspiration for the Earth’s environment, has been supported by The Walt Disney Company globally with a range of initiatives.
