Communities in action

We had such a great day improving a small part of our local neighbourhood and I would recommend tree planting to anyone who can find space to do it."

Rachel Cunynghame, Back Enders community group, Camden

Towns, villages and cities across the UK are being transformed through tree planting to create greener and healthier neighbourhoods.

Not only will this activity enhance our sense of well-being but provide home, shelter and food for wildlife, store carbon, create cooling shade and help manage the impact of storm water. Planting trees is also great fun.

In just 10 years a sapling will grow into a young tree with leafy canopy above our heads.

The return for planting saplings today is quicker than you might think.

Communities across the UK are making a real difference to where they live, work, rest and play.
