Peason working in partnership with the Woodland Trust

Pearson is delighted to be partnering with the Woodland Trust in 2011 and 2012 to deliver free Seeds to Trees kits to Primary schools as part of the Woodland Trust’s More Trees More Good campaign.

The world’s leading education company, Pearson provides educational materials, technologies, assessments and related services to teachers and students of all ages.

The partnership illustrates Pearson’s ongoing commitment to the planet and its communities and reflects a shared understanding of the need not just to reduce carbon dioxide emissions but, by planting more trees, together we can make a positive difference.

Free teaching resources

A new BBC Active iPoster, Woodland, is available for free to all UK schools. Packed with amazing BBC video, activities and fascinating facts, it’s the perfect resource for bringing nature to life and motivating children to explore the native woodland environment of the British Isles.

A complete topic pack, Woodland iPoster comes with teacher's notes, activity sheets and guidance on the national curriculum objectives you will cover.

The download will work on a PC only. A version will be available for MAC from the end of January.

The Woodland iPoster can be used with children age 7-11, and will support you to:

• undertake a local area study (even if you are a city school)
• investigate the science of green plants, habitat, adaptation and climate change
• look at how our relationship with woodland has changed over time
• consider the importance of sustainability
• explore how artists, musicians and writers are inspired by British woodland
