Greening Central Scotland

Get tree planting across central ScotlandHow to apply for a grant

Scotland is one of the least wooded countries in Europe with only 17% woodland cover of which 4% is native.

This is why the Trust has set an ambitious target to double native tree cover across the country over the next 50 years.  This ambition is supported by the Scottish Government’s vision for forestry.

The Trust cannot achieve this on its own and wishes to work with others who share our view.

50% increase in woodland cover

Working with the Central Scotland Green Network we hope to deliver at least a 50% increase in woodland cover across a large swathe of the country stretching from Ayrshire and Inverclyde in the West across to Fife and the Lothians in the East.

We hope to encourage more people to plant trees not simply because they provide such a large range of benefits  but because they are low cost and very good value for money.
