Fundraising resources for Jubilee Woods

We’re a charity so fundraising is essential to our work.  Help us raise funds to plant 6 million trees for the Jubilee.

There are hundreds of fun activities your pupils can get involved with and the opportunities to add a fundraiser are fantastic. Whether it's organising a quiz, dressing in green for the day or arranging a picnic, we suggest you keep it simple and choose something you think you and your pupils will enjoy.

Simply set up a Justgiving.com fundraising site for your school to make it easy for parents and friends to make a donation to your activity. They have some great ideas, and you’ll find even more at our Nature Detectives site, so why not take a look?

If you have any questions call our fundraising support team on

lines are available between 08.30am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. Alternatively, you can email us: jubileewoods@woodlandtrust.org.uk

What can I do in an hour?

You can achieve so much in just one hour

Whether you do a sponsored event or charge an admission fee for your fundraising day, the money you raise will help create wildlife-rich new woodland and enhance the landscape of your community.

Take a look at some of our suggestions below and don't forget to download our free Fundraising Toolkit for loads of fun stuff you can do with your pupils and their parents.

Car wash
Get the sponge out and ask your teachers for a donation to wash their cars! You could even stretch to local businesses.

Quiz time
Organise a quiz at school and ask for a donation to enter. Download our free Jubilee quiz... it's challenging, but simple to organise!

Book sale
Everyone has old books, so why not organise a book sale? Ask everyone to bring in unwanted books and then suggest donations to prospective new readers.

Sponsored teacher shave
Just for men – why not get sponsored to have those legs waxed or go for a really short hair cut? The pupils can get their parents to sponsor and it's a great photo opportunity!

What can I do in a day

You can achieve so much in just one day

Whether you decide to get sponsored by friends and family or charge an admission fee for your fundraising event, the money you raise will be going towards creating new woodland and enhancing the landscape of your community.

Take a look at some of our suggestions below and don't forget to download our free Fundraising Toolkit for loads of stuff you can do with pupils and parents.

A walk in the woods
Organise a walk in the woods with the pupils and their parents. You can ask for a donation and it's a great way for everyone to come together, enjoy beautiful woodland and start a healthier lifestyle.

Organise a tree party
Why not put on a Tree party to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee. Donations can be made for tea and cakes, have a quiz or organise a raffle. Visit our project pack for all things tree related for your party.

Compete in the Olympics in the classroom
Get all the pupils together for a great day of competition! Jump on the Wii or Playstation and compete with each other to see who can be the next Fatima Whitbread!

Teacher baby photo competition
Teachers – bring in pictures of when you were kids and ask for a donation for a guess. Great for open days and fetes.

Mufti day
Always a good one with the pupils. Teachers could even turn up in fancy dress (as decided by the pupils!)

Put on a royal picnic
Everyone donates a dish and then donates for the privilege of tasting others.

Film day
Turn your classroom into a cinema. Just ask for a donation for admission and popcorn.

What can I do in a week

You can achieve so much in just one week

Whether you decide to do a sponsored event or charge an admission fee for your fundraising day, the money you raise will help create wildlife-rich new woodland and enhance the landscape of your community.

Take a look at some of our suggestions below and don't forget to download our free Fundraising Toolkit for loads of fun stuff you can do with the pupils and their parents.

Sports challenge!
Get your sports day sponsored by parents and local businesses.

Cleaning up the woods
Organise a sponsored clean up with the pupils in a local wood. Litter picking, sweeping leaves – and having a great time!

Read-a-thon
Pupils pledge to read as many books as possible in a week. They can collect flat donations from their relatives or receive a donation based on the number of books they read.

Give it up
Can the pupils give up their computer games or Wii for a week? Friends and family could sponsor them and the pupils could go outdoors instead with Nature Detectives activity packs.
