Enabling communities to plant 66,000 trees across England, Scotland and Wales
By donating £50,000 WREN have helped 192 community groups plant the Woodland Trust’s community tree packs, creating 63 hectares (157 acres) of new native woodland throughout Waste Recycling Limited’s operating areas.
WREN awards grants to community projects from funds donated by Waste Recycling Group (WRG) to the Landfill Communities Fund and has funded many Woodland Trust projects including a project in Cumbria to restore 1000 hectares of planted ancient woodland (PAWS) and an informal play project across eight of our woods to encourage children to explore and enjoy their local woodlands.
