When you first hear that your local wood or trees are under threat it is vitally important that you substantiate this with facts. Depending on what type of threat you have there are a number of things to do to ensure that you have the right information at your fingertips.

There are situations where felling trees and woodland is completely legal and there will be nothing that you can do about it. The information over the next few pages should help you decide what type of threat you are dealing with and the action you might need to take.
