Are you the kind of person who can spot a planning application from 500 yards? Do you value your local woodland and adore trees? Then read on…
The Woodland Trust needs your help to stop the decline in native woodland across the UK.
WoodWatch is a project that empowers people to raise a voice for woodland, and to take effective action to protect the woods and trees that are important in their community.
Read about WoodWatcher campaigns and see the artwork that woods and trees have inspired here.
Get involved!
You can support WoodWatch by taking part in some or all of these easy-to-do activities:
Act as the eyes and ears for local woodland and historic trees.
Watch and listen for any potential development threats and let the Woodland Trust and your local community know as soon as you sense danger!
Keep an eye on threats to woods and trees in your area, and those that are of national importance.
Check the WoodWatch website regularly - or even better, join our mailing list so we can inform you of cases being worked on and the ways you can help.
Take part in community action and object to development threatening woodland in association with the Woodland Trust.
Support our petitions and set up petitions of your own. Get others to sign and make sure local planners know your own, personal concerns.
Tell us if you have specialist skills you would like to put into action.
Help the leading woodland conservation charity achieve a UK rich in native woods and trees by sharing your specialised knowledge in legal, ecological or planning systems at local level. Contact us on WoodWatch@woodlandtrust.org.uk if you think you can help.
