West Midlands

The West Midlands is among the worst counties for high numbers of threats to ancient woodland...

AND is one of the five least wooded counties in England!

Woodland cover in the West Midlands is much lower than the national average at 5.8% compared to 10%.

With 17 ancient woods having come under threat in the last 10 years – one of which has already been lost or damaged - greater protection for woods and trees is needed as well as much more tree planting.
