Surrey

Surrey takes gold as the best county in England for woodland cover... BUT woodland threats remain extremely high.

With an impressive woodland cover of almost 25% the county takes the lead in England. Sadly, an incredible 38 ancient woods have come under threat from development in the last 10 years – five of which have already been lost or damaged.

This makes Surrey one of the best and worst counties in our league table.

Action is urgently needed to improve protection for your ancient woodland.
