Rutland

Rutland’s woodland figures all in the red.

Woodland cover in England's smallest county, Rutland, is lower than the national average at 6.4% compared to 10%, and just 8.4% of its population has access to a wood close to home, compared to the recommended national average of 15%.

Worse, three ancient woods came under threat from development in the last 10 years – all of which have been lost or damaged. Urgent action is needed!
