Restore

Planted ancient woodland sites must be returned to their native ancient glory.

We especially want to see restoration obligations met for England's public forests.

The conservation potential in these damaged ancient woods must be realised.

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity...

  • Without sensitive and timely restoration, the chance to repair our beleaguered heritage of ancient woods is missed.
  • Replacing conifers with more conifers (which could easily happen as the crop approaches maturity) will smother the life out of these woods. Any ancient remnants that managed to survive conversion will almost certainly then be lost forever.
