Nottinghamshire

A testing time for woodland in Nottinghamshire.

Even with its medieaval Sherwood Forest, woodland cover in Nottinghamshire is lower than the national average (9.7% compared to 10%), and just 13% of its population has access to a wood close to home, again lower than the 15% national recommended average.

Worse, 11 precious ancient woods have come under threat in the last 10 years – one of which has already been lost or damaged. Action is needed.
