Norfolk has one of the highest numbers of threats to ancient woodland.
Despite woodland cover in Norfolk matching the national average of 10%, the percentage of people who have a wood they can visit within walking distance is just 9.8%, instead of the recommended 15%.
What’s more - with 11 precious ancient woods having come under threat in the last 10 years – five of which are still under threat today – action is needed.
