Lancashire

Lancashire among the worst counties in England for the high number of threats to ancient woodland.

AND Lancashire is one of the least wooded.

Woodland cover in Lancashire is much lower than the national average (6.5% compared to 10%), and with 13 ancient woods having come under threat in the last 10 years – three of which were lost or damaged - greater protection for woods and trees is needed.
