A testing time for woodland in Gloucestershire.
Despite woodland cover in Gloucestershire currently recorded as slightly above the national average (12.3% compared to 10%), five ancient woods have come under threat in the last 10 years – two of which have already been lost or damaged.
Action is needed to stop further loss, and work towards increasing woodland cover to the recommended woodland cover of 15%.
