Bristol and the surrounding area is among the least wooded counties in England.

Bristol’s statistics show that woodland in the county is scarce, with cover at only 6.1%, compared to a 10% national average.

The percentage of people who have a wood nearby that they can visit  is also below average at 13.9% compared to 15%.

Tree canopy cover in Bristol is also low at 14%, compared to the City Council's aspirations to reach 30%.
