Red Tape Challenge

The Government wants your views on what regulations 'can be simplified and what can be scrapped'.

What does the Trust think?

Including environmental regulations in the Red Tape Challenge is mistaken 'gesture politics.'

The natural environment is the bedrock of our future prosperity, not an obstacle to it. Our environmental laws have been developed over the years by both Conservative and Labour Governments to safeguard the natural environment - our life support system.

If the Coalition is serious about its aim to be 'the Greenest government ever' this shouldn't be happening.

Especially in the year a new Natural Environment White Paper is published. Yet happening it appears to be!

Take action:

See how just some of these regulations are intrinsically linked
