Throught the project the Trust worked to enhance the structure of existing broadleaved woodland, enhance biodiversity and increase the area of native woodland in West Lothian. This was achieved through
- Thinning 49 hectares of densely planted woodland to encourage more light into the woodland, making it more welcoming for visitors as well as creating a more diverse woodland habitat.
- Felling and replanting 3 hectares of coniferous woodland
- Planting 6,750 new native trees to create new 3 hectare native woodland
Ongoing management of 230 hectares of woodland will continue according to the latest woodland management plans
