Improving access

The project aim was to encourage people to enjoy the outdoors, woods and surroundings in West Lothian.  Throughout the life of the project the Trust:

  • Developed a series of health walks which will be incorporated into “Put Your West Foot Forward”;
  • Delivered guided walks in our woods with West Lothian Ranger Service;
  • Worked with West Lothian Council's Community Greenspace officer in redeveloping their local parks.

To encourage more people out into the woods and understand the green spaces around them, audio guides for Eliburn Wood, North Wood and Deans Woods have been developed.

Although the project may have come to an end the Trust will continue make our woods more welcoming.
