Can you find a sweet chestnut like this?We want you to tell us about the oldest, fattest trees you can find.

And right now, we're looking for one of autumn's true delights - the sweet chestnut.

Ancient sweet chestnuts typically have wonderfully twisted trunks and at this time of year they have long finger-like leaves and spiny seed cases.

The largest sweet chestnut ever recorded was on the slopes of Mount Etna in Italy. And who knows - there could be an even bigger one near you!

Discover giant sweet chestnuts near you and find out how you can record them.

Have you spotted another species of tree? Visit the Ancient Tree Hunt site now and record it.
