Volunteers are critical to the work of the Woodland Trust.
We rely on our workforce of nearly 1,500 regular volunteers to help with a broad range of activities at every level of the organisation, from planting trees to sitting on the board of trustees.
So far this year they have contributed a whopping 225,000 hours of their time, equating to a monetary value of over £2 million.
To say thank you in a small way, we run an annual Volunteer of the Year award in which many of our volunteers are recognised.
If you'd like to volunteer for the Woodland Trust, there are many different ways you can get involved, such as:
Attending a one day tree planting event, joining a regular work party for one of our woods, becoming a voluntary warden, measuring seasonal events in relation to climate change in your local area, hunting for ancient trees, becoming a voluntary speaker or a local media volunteer - among others.
