Duties:
- To work in close conjunction with the Supporter Marketing Director and other senior staff in supporter marketing, fundraising and communications and engagement to maximise the number and lifetime value of supporters (who support us through giving time and/or money)
- To lead, develop and maintain a broad understanding of our different groups of supporters and, in conjunction with offer owners, develop the most appropriate journeys of support for each (Aim 4, Strategic Priority 3, action b ‘ Develop a clear strategy and activity plan for managing supporters on a long term journey to maximise their lifetime support for the Woodland Trust’ and Aim 3 Strategic Priority 6 action b ‘Develop a supporter ’route map’ where by testing response to different activities we can optimise the early contact approach with new supporters and other hand-raisers (e.g. e-newsletter recipients) to engage them more deeply with our work
- To achieve the above through innovative strategies, including a testing and evaluation process to optimise longer term effectiveness whilst managing return on investment (ROI)
- To champion developments and strategy for supporter management systems (Iris Care) on behalf of the users
- Financial control of budgets for the above
Experience Required:
- Previous success in developing marketing strategy to increase income ahead of market growth
- Experience of marketing using direct mail, advertising and on-line from both a strategy and implementation perspective
- Experience in customer or supporter segmentation, and good understanding of statistical analysis and market research techniques (qual and quant). Ideal but not essential would be experience of conducting qualitative research.
- Experience in managing in a matrix environment
- Good organisational and presentation skills, accomplished user of Microsoft Office or similar
- Experience of CRM systems including data strategy and database interrogation
Knowledge of some of the following would be an advantage:
- Data profiling using external data sources
- Digital marketing including analysis
- Fundraising
Qualities Required:
- Leadership skills combined with energy and flexibility
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including maturity and sensitivity and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
- Expertise in data and numerical analysis and interpretation of results
- Creativity and ability to think conceptually
- Project Management skills
