Location: Ideally Grantham - flexibility for home working

Full-time permanent position - 37.5 hours per week

Summary of Job:

The Woodland Trust’s priority aim within our new Strategic Plan is to enable the creation of more native woods and places rich in trees. You will be part of an exciting new Partnerships team, tasked with helping to lead this step change in the Trust’s activity, through primarily achieving ambitious woodland creation targets on land owned by others.  You will report to the Head of Partnerships and will focus on initiating and developing partnerships with large land-owning organisations and other relevant individuals/bodies. You will be expected to devise and deliver a package of land, advice and money, which achieves native woodland creation.

One of the Partnerships Manager positions will initially focus on the development and delivery of a plan relating to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, which aims to generate land, funding and awareness to achieve woodland creation and tree planting on a grand scale.

Duties:  

Develop and maintain a portfolio of key contacts who can help us make our step change in woodland creation:

  • To identify and prioritise prospective partners and contacts
  • Create opportunities to reach and inspire these contacts
  • To establish and build relationships with key contacts

Devise robust plans and compelling, tailored proposals to secure support:

  • To devise and manage the delivery of a project plan for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee (Partnerships Manager – Queen’s Diamond Jubilee role only)
  • To research and work with others to compile and deliver persuasive business cases
     
    To secure and manage partnerships:
  • To negotiate and reach agreements that meet the Trust’s needs
  • Co-ordinate the funding, communications and woodland creation advice for such partnerships
  • To professionally account manage key relationships and partnerships 

Qualities Required:

  • Results driven – ability to set clear goals and priorities and take responsibility for their delivery, demonstrating tenacity and enthusiasm in achieving them
  • Persuasive -  excellent negotiation and ‘sales’ skills
  • Innovative – ability to use own initiative and make sound decisions which translate our best creative ideas into reality
  • Professional – very business-like and commercially aware, demonstrating excellent planning, organisational and customer focused skills
  • Collaborative – excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work across teams

Desirable Qualities:

• Self Aware
• Passion for trees and woods

Knowledge Required:

  • Very good understanding of conservation is desirable
  • IT literate, preferably with MS Office experience


Experience Required:

  • Relationship management- – a very high performing developer of relationships with exceptional networking ability; able to spot opportunities and connections, evaluate them and act on them
