Learning & Development Adviser (Part-Time)- Updated

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 pro-rata

Part-Time Role

Based: Grantham

 

Background:

To act as L&D lead across the organisation (currently approx 280 staff) and operate as part of an HR & Facilities team of eleven . 


Duties:

  • To take the lead role in learning & development across the Trust, offering advice, guidance and recommendations to ensure organisational excellence.
  • Full design of learning materials and  course creation from Training Needs Analysis to session design, production of materials and handouts to final delivery.
  • Ability to work closely with Head of HR to create and “in-house” training/learning programme.  This may cover areas such as PDR training, Potential Manager – Effective Manager Programmes to more specialist “skill” and “behavioural” based training.
  • To work closely with the Head of HR to create an L&D Strategy* and a plan of learning activity.
  • To continue to support any existing Leadership and Management Development Programmes*; assessing, monitoring, reviewing and evolving as required.
  • To support the delivery and content of our new starter induction programme.
  • To assist the organisation in any cultural change initiatives
  • Dealing with training requests with a close eye on cost, value for money and relevance aiming where possible to design and deliver in-house solutions.
  • Identifying and liaising with external L&D providers, negotiating rates and monitoring impact and results.
  • Reviewing appraisal documents to pull out L&D needs.
  • Assisting managers to create individual training plans and team building plans.
  • To carry out a regular annual training needs analysis with relevant departmental line management.
  • To explore methods of reinforcing learning and sending cultural messages.
  • To proactively seek excellence in all you do.
  • To support HR colleagues in their delivery of HR guidance and services as directed by the Head of HR.
  • To act as an ambassador of the L&D/HR department at all times.
  • Such other duties as directed by the Head of HR/Senior Mgt.

* Key project for 2010

Experience Required:

  • Experienced in training design especially in areas of Performance Management and behavioural learning.  For example, Motivation, Influencing and Persuation and Effective Team management.
  • Experienced in MBTI
  • Good knowledge of learning interventions such as “GROW” “Transactional Analysis” “Behavioural Iceberg” “Transitiona Curve” – linked to managing change etc...
  • Used to operating within a competency based environment – linked to values and behaviours.
  • Level A & B qualified to administer and manage Psycometrics.

Knowledge of some of the following would be an advantage:

  • Third Sector needs.
  • 360 Assessment.

Qualities Required:

  • A proactive, positive, flexible, can-do individual with the ability to get the best out of others.
  • A trustworthy, confidential person who understands the importance of clear communication.
  • Able to push-back managers, coaching them to get the best out of others.
  • Someone with an opinion, who is able to challenge others to excellence.
  • Corporate/Strategic thinking.
