Summary of Job:
As a fundraiser in the Business Development team you will be required to contribute towards the team’s targets of increasing corporate income by 50% over the next 3 years. Key areas are building relationships with corporate prospects to secure new, strategic partnerships and working closely with the Major Donor team to maximise corporate opportunities. Part of your role will be proactively building up a portfolio of companies through your research, creating propositions for environmental partnerships and “selling” them in to your companies. An increasing part will be by responding to opportunities secured through our external network of individuals within the business world.
Duties:
- Develop and maintain your own portfolio of companies,
- Build relationships with a number of key current corporate prospects
- Prepare professional proposals and undertake presentations at senior level meetings
- Help identify growth areas and opportunities within the corporate sector
- Contribute towards agreed performance measures
- Respond to corporate enquiries as required
- Identify and work with your manager to manage risk in new partnerships as part of our overall risk management programme
- Working with the Trust’s legal advisors put together legal agreements
- Maintain the appropriate systems & procedures
- Work in collaboration with others across the organisation
- Networking at appropriate events to help raise the profile of the Trust and secure new introductions
- Represent the team on Trust-wide working groups where the project/campaign emphasis is on securing funds from the corporate sector

An enthusiastic and focused individual with an interest in people, you will be a self-motivated achiever with a natural ability for fundraising and a track record of success.

- Persuasive - strong negotiation and ‘sales’ skills both within the organisation and outside

- Professional – being commercially aware you must demonstrate excellent customer focus skills with an aptitude for proactively building relationships
- Organisation – good planning prioritising a heavy workload to deliver your objectives
- Collaborative – excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with other teams and individuals to share knowledge
Desirable Qualities:
- Self aware
- Passion for trees and woods
Knowledge Required:
- Very good understanding of conservation is desirable
- IT literate, preferably with MS Office experience
Experience Required:
Building relationships – working with people and organisations to develop understanding and interest in each other's objectives, finding creative solutions to meet both parties’ needs
