Employees

The Woodland Trust's employees are a key part of its success.

When the Trust opened its first office in Grantham it had just one member of staff - John James - who eventually became the Trust's first chief executive. Currently, the Woodland Trust has nearly 300 employees working across the UK.

The Trust needs this number of staff in order to achieve its objectives and we have staff employed in a variety of different departments.

A large proportion of our personnel work from the Trust's head office in Grantham, but many, particularly our woodland officers, are home-based. We also have offices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with staff in each of these locations too.
