Lottery Funding and the Woodland Trust

For every £1 that the public spends on Lottery tickets 28 pence goes to the Lottery good causes. These are the arts, charities and voluntary groups, heritage, health, education, the environment and sports.

Lottery funders (including the Heritage Lottery fund and the Big Lottery Fund) have been some of our most generous supporters on a wide range of Woodland Trust projects for over 12 years.

Their support has helped us to acquire and manage our largest site at Glen Finglas in the beautiful Scottish Trossachs; given us the opportunity to seek out and document the UK’s oldest, fattest trees through our Ancient Tree Hunt; created new native woodland across the whole of the UK and inspired thousands of kids to get actively involved in conservation through our ground-breaking Nature Detectives website.
