Can I remove logs from your woods?

I have seen logs left in your woods.  Can I take some for my woodburner or fire?

We don't supply firewood, as we manage our woods primarily for conservation benefit, and of course, public access. Where we do generate timber, it is often left on site to provide wildlife habitats.

The logs have considerable ecological value as deadwood, as they rot down in the woodland they will provide habitat, food and shelter for many species of plants and animals. This is important to the Woodland Trust as one of our main objectives is to increase Biodiversity.

If you would like to obtain timber or firewood, Ecolots may have details of a supplier in your area.
