Walking your dog

Can I walk my dog(s) in a Trust wood?

Our policy is to keep our woods open wherever possible for quiet informal recreation and at most sites this does include walking of dogs. All that we ask is that the dogs are kept under reasonable control and do not cause annoyance to other users of the wood.

At some of our sites we have livestock grazing.  If you see livestock in one of our woods or on adjoining land, please keep dogs on leads.

Dog fouling has recently become a problem at a few of our woods across the UK.  Please note that if you are walking a dog in one of our woods it is your responsibility to clean up after it.

For further information, please see the Kennel Club's guide to Responsible Dog Ownership and Natural England's Dogs in the Countryside guide.

If you are having repeated problems when visiting one of our woods, please let us know.
