Alternative charity gifts for Christmas

Christmas is a wonderful time to be enjoyed with family and friends – but it can also be a challenge in a very material world. In 2018, try an alternative approach and make a difference to the world around us. After all, Christmas is the charitable season. You can give Woodland Trust gifts that will benefit people, wildlife and Mother Nature herself, now and in the future.

Our shop offers a huge variety of gifts with something for everyone this Christmas. If you're one of those shoppers that leaves everything until the last minute, we have gifts for that too! Crucially, they all provide vital funds to help create, restore and protect native UK woodland.

Here are our top ideas for alternative charity gifts this Christmas.

Virtual gifts

Perfect for nature lovers and last minute shoppers, our range of virtual gifts comes with a personalised certificate delivered instantly to your email address, or direct to the recipient’s.

If you prefer, you could have it posted – that way you can personalise the certificate yourself, and hand it over personally using the gift card and envelope enclosed.

Our virtual gift options include:

From woodpeckers and squirrels to stag beetles and dormice – they all need trees. With your help we can plant more and create future homes for wildlife.
Price: £20

The UK has lost 40% of its hedgerows since the 1940s. This gift funds new hedgerows to invest in wildlife and help our favourite animals thrive.
Price: £30

Help protect half an acre of valuable woodland to give the great British bluebell room to grow. It’s one of spring's unmissable sights and a timeless example of just how special our ancient woods are.
Price: £33

Dedicate trees or an area of woodland

Give something extra special with one of our dedications. You can choose from woods all over the UK and even add a bench or marker post with a personalised plaque. What an unforgettable gift!

Your donation will support our work standing up for the UK’s woods, trees and wildlife. To say thank you, we’ll send a special dedications pack with a personalised certificate, map and wood information sheet. We can send it to you or straight to the recipient.

Price: starting from a recommended donation of £20.
