Competition for kids
BT, Tate and the Woodland Trust today announce a competition for
children aged 6-12 years old, inviting them to design their own
‘scene of nature’. The competition marks BT’s initiative to
donate 10,000 saplings to the Woodland Trust as part of their
sponsorship of this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.
To enter the competition, children need to log onto
http://kids.tate.org.uk/games/paint
and create a picture in ‘Tate Paint’, which captures what the
theme of ‘nature’ means to them - anything from a woodland scene
to plants, animals, birds or water. ‘Tate Paint’ is an easy to use online programme
that allows children to create illustrations online.
The competition, which launches today, is split into three
categories: aged 6-7, 8-10 and 11-12 years old with prizes
awarded to the winner in each category including family tickets
to the Isle of Wight festival on 13th – 15th June, Tate Kids
goody bags and Woodland Trust swatch books for leaf and
wildflower identification. In addition, the winning designs will
feature in an online gallery on
http://kids.tate.org.uk/games/paint
BT, Tate and Woodland Trust representatives will sit on the
judging panel to select the best entry from each category. The
competition will run until 5th June. |
